Kylie Kam is back online. I think I had a webcam blow out! Anyway after blaming windows and crappy drivers it turns out that the purple cam works but the green one doesn't. Is there something deeper in that? Who cares. The boys are coming over tonight to watch the FA Cup Final and to spend time having fun XBOXing and PSing. I feel dead tired, you know the tired in the eyes sort of tired, which doesn't bode well for a happy B being around tonight.
Been playing BloodWake on the XBOX. Not too bad. In fact I will go out on a limb and say I like it. If the boat just behaved less like a boat that would be great. [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

The lucky, funny, comic drawing, guys at
Penny Arcade! will see an overview of Xbox Live soon. Looking forward to hearing about it. They had this comment to make:
"Two years ago, Square's presentation for their "PlayOnline" service really shook me up. It pointed toward an elegant, global network with the assurance that we were almost there - and now that it's almost here, what I know already makes me think that Xbox Live is underpinned by a more holistic strategy. In any event, we'll know very soon."

Today wasn't too bad - got a lot of progress made on the DataBase [which was all it was about]. Feeling completely wasted right now - just no energy to do anything, apart from this and even this is boring me right now. Maybe I should just have an early night. Maybe I should finally clean the back room and work out why stinking windows is ignoing my web cam. [

Just got home from BB. Had a few good talks with people tonight, both with Matt's. Matty D and Matty F. I also thought devotions was conherant and to the point - and included a chunk of the bible - but not too much. I'm still feeling down. Dunno what it is, work, relationships, disappointments, not reading and praying, too many things to do that I haven't done, feeling like I am letting people down - hmm free association can sometimes work - sometimes leaves more questions than answers. Anyway it's well past time for bed - tomorrow is a day of no teaching, just working on the Reports Database - maybe the new servers will arrive, either way it should be a productive day. The boys will be over Saturday night for FA Cup Final - hoping to catch up with Rob, who I haven't had a chance to talk to for a long time and see what's doing in his life and maybe mend a few broken fences. Hope to see you there. [

Found this site about
unpatched IE vulnerabilities [WIN] while reading about the Win XP
auto update feature driving users crazy - cos there is too many updates! Interesting side note one the second page was that some patches where to make Kaza and some other kopyright killer app work better.
It is strange, that a company that would invade individuals privacy and make hardware upgrading a suspicious activity to stem the theft of their software is helping make software that helps people steal other peoples work, function better on their systems. [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

For quite a while I have wanted to write something about the current round of stupidty being lived out in Israel, Palestine and the Occupied Territories - but haven't felt I had any right to, let along the words to say that wouldn't seem totally shallow and naive. In this
piece from the SMH Desmond Tutu comments on the situation - and I feel that what he says sums up how I feel - in particular:
"My heart aches. Why are our memories so short? Have our Jewish sisters and brothers forgotten their humiliation? Have they forgotten the collective punishment, the home demolitions, in their history so soon? Have they turned their backs on their profound and noble religious traditions? Have they forgotten that God cares deeply about the downtrodden?
Israel will never get true security and safety through oppressing another people. A true peace can ultimately be built only on justice. We condemn the violence of suicide bombers, and we condemn the corruption of young minds taught hatred; but we also condemn the violence of military incursions in the occupied lands, and the inhumanity that won't let ambulances reach the injured."

Well no excitement was waiting in the staffroom. Today went okay, spent a few hours after school finalising the new report letterhead with a few other people - and I think the finished product looks most spiffy.
Telstra have fixed whatever it was that was stopping the internet from working. But now the PC which drives Kylie Kam has decided to forget how to load the drivers it needs to make the cam work - damm Windows. I might fix it tomorrow afternoon - depending on how I feel.
Well, I enjoyed KYCKSTART, but there is still a feeling, which I can't quite explain, that is still getting me down. Maybe I'll work it out, maybe not. Having a God who stengthens me is very cool, but having the humilty to go to Him and ask Him and then to rely on that Strength and not my own, now that is sometimes a bit harder. Oh and I like
Rob's quote of the week - so you better rush over there and check it before it changes. [

This should bring a smile to Rob's face - Telstra's network is having some
trouble. Well alot really and so after a whole weekend away with no internet I am still without internet - so no webcam until Telstra work out "what's doing!" - the weekend? how did it go? Yeah, I thought it went well. Learnt a few things, which is always a bonus, about God and some of the people there too. So a good weekend. Did the sound last night at church, it was fun to do something I haven't done for a while. Although it did mean that I didn't really "get home from KYCKSTART" until 9pm which meant I was pretty wrecked - wasn't happy to then find internet out.
And as for work, well, the servers aren't here :( but I have managed to keep enough jobs to do to keep out of faculty. But I better get back down to the staffroom and see what excitement lies in wait for me there. [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]
