Just got back from seeing Star Wars Ep 2 - and I have struggled, do I write about it, or not, I mean every person on the planet has probably written about, what more can I say - and a lot of that stuff I read. Well, I'm gonna write about it, I think it is the duty of every person with a voice on the net to comment on SW:2, we all have a destiny and writing about SW2 is that destiny...... hmmm that's so bad it could have come from the movie.
I loved it. Every poor line, pathetic joke, special efffect scale issue, every space ship which cross light years but give you no space to go the toilet, each [thankfully few] appearance of Ja Ja Binks, every young upstart vs old wise one predictable humour, every costume change of Queen [excuse me] Senator Armadillo, every dodgy line of C3PO's. I loved it.
The sweep and granduer was there all over again, more sweepier and grandier than ever, movie CG has reached another level. The film is spectacular, inside, outside, cityside, planetside, asteriod field side, no matter where you went it rocked. The story moved along and felt just about right, although I thought the ending took me by surprise - I rekon they will make another movie, I know it's a wild idea but so many things are left hanging. I don't think I can say much more without giving the game away but - look for shadows, sabres, things that go boom!, clones, storm troopers, the good guys becoming bad guys, and Fuzzy Bear moving like he never moved before
In my book it's worth 5/5 Green Light Sabres! [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

Part of the University of Adelaide the
Wearable Computer Laboratory has two projects which put this technology into a context which is useful, and fun. But mostly I guess it goes to show that wearable computers do indeed have use other than just a very cool geek idea. [

Oh and dinner tonight followed by State Of Origin went off - had a great time - even though Queensland lost - there is always next time, and at least NSW played well and so deserved the victory. [

Here on May 16 and a few other times I have referred to a friend I have been treating as much less than a friend. Well I have just finished talking to that friend, catching up and dicussing stuff - and it was good. Hopefully this will mean better relations than has been over the last few weeks.
I just feel gutted though, questioning my usefulness at work and at church - realising that I am cutting people to try and deal with all this and that has resulted in people staying clear of me a bit was an important understanding.
I still don't exactly know why I was particularly putting crap on this one person but hopefully I will be able to relate in a more positive way with them in real life. The funny thing was that our email communication stayed as friendly as ever, just the face to face stuff was strained.
Thanks for those who were praying about this. Night. [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

People are coming around tonight for dinner and State Of Origin watching. You can
see us eating dinner between 630 and 730 or so before we disappear to cheer on the borign blues or the mighty maroons!
Go Queensland. [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

ÔCopy-proofÕ CDs foiled by a marker - says it all. Copying music that you do not own is theft. Should the artists get a better cut and not the nasty distribution/media companies - yes, but obtaining music without paying for it just means that the artist gets nothing and it's not different, morally, than going to a shop and doing a smash and grab. PvP is a comic I read very occasionally [MA15+], which I don't always find funny, and I don't see Mac OS as 'the darkside' but
this brought a smile to my face. It might just do the same to yours. [

Had an interesting afternoon, evening working on the Server which I brought home from school. Decided to reinstall the System, which is very easy - just restore a disk image. Then ran through all the updates. I then went to the folder I went back to school to get after I had discovered I had left it behind [cos it had FMP Server in it] only to find that the folder did
NOT contain FileMaker Pro Server as I had thought!!! Oh well, I try reinstalling that tomorrow at work. And the funny thing that happened at work today - forgetting to stay at school to take year 8 period 8 - yep, I took the server and went home early so that I would be able to do the updates and stuff using cable instead of shared ISDN and then at 6pm I remembered that I had year 8 maths the last period - oh my oh my oh my. I just got the class two weeks ago, so I guess it's not that strange.
Arghh! I am an Old Farty Pants! [Comment] [GuestBook] [Archive]

The Paper was updated over the weekend - so all the issues from 183 to 186 are now on line. Bringing me up to date. 186 Had pix of the cornerball competition held last week - which our B team came second beating out the A team who came third. [

No promo was made. Although James did pop round to help out. Well it was nice to play a bit of halo with him anyway. Have done some more work on the G4 and ran all the updates and it looks like FMP Server works fine on OS X Server. Although the Deputy Laptop likes to crash when coming out of the remote admin program the actual use of the files seems fine. It is a nice mahcine and very fast. I am messing around with the QT Streaming server section to see what things I can do with it. [
