Beach Camp A Great Success

Held at Lake Munmorah State Recreation Area, just north of Gosford, this years' beach camp was another great time of relaxation and fellowship.

Brendan, David F, Matthew F, Gavin, Rollo, Stephen C, Peter D, Steven D, Warren, Warwick, Daniel, Michael, Brendan S, Simon B, James N and Tim were there as was Kylie L, Rachael, Kylie B, Natalie, Leanne, Rebecca, Sandra, Alison and Kate Bailey from the girls.

Highlights included prawns for entree Saturday evening; beating the Scouts at cricket; walking along the beach; catching a wave; relaxing in the sun and sand; burying Kylie Lupton in the sand; surprising a group of people on the beach on Saturday night and building Sand Castles.

Thanks must also go to Bill and Ben who came up on Sunday to collect us.

Another great weekend away together - and only 51 weeks until the next one.

Song About Wise Men?

We're All Going On A Summer Holiday

Not to be hampered by a lack of good songs about the Wise Men Houghdy decided that Secret Ambition would do the job as long as Brendan could work his magic and come up with a good linking message.

That was the easy part, the hard part was getting all the musicians to practice and for our voices to be able to reach the heights of the scale required.

Well we did it coming through with flying colours - despite a few more last minute hitches than usual.

The crowd really enjoyed the song we sang and praised the efforts of MatthewF, StephenC, StevenD, Jim Warren, Warwick, Jeffrey, Simon, Michael, Daniel, DavidF, and Rollo.

Houghdy and The Jesus Fish Band were also in attendance with David H on piano, Gavin Smith on Bass, Peter Konchenko on Lead Guitar and Anthony Watson on Drums.

With Holidays coming up we all look forward to getting away from it all. Not all of us get the chance to go to exotic locations.

I spoke to a few of you about where you were off to this holidays....

Chris - off to the beach for the holidays [again]. Each year the Coopers make their way to Narrabeen to stay in a caravan park. As was the case last year we are all invited to drop in for a while.

They are staying at the Lakeside Caravan Park North Narrabeen. Please call them the day before [99137845] and leave a message.

Warwick - another one off to an exotic destination, this time Port Macquarie, a bit further North than Narrabeen.

Warwick is especially glad that they are taking two cars away this year.

Prayer Points

+ thank God for the great year we have had, and ask Him for an even better one next year.

+ for Beach Missions held up and down the East Coast - for unity, for a clear witness, for God's power to work in the hearts of the people they meet. For boldness and safety.

+ that we make good us of our time spending heaps of time with God and sharing Him with those we meet.

Good Bye &
Merry Christmas.

This is the last issue of The Paper for 1997. Next year I hope to have a lot more input from you guys - so don't be surprised if I ask you to write something.

If you have photos or a story then let me know. I am happy to include just about anything in The Paper.

The Paper will start about two weeks before Brigade so keep an eye on the Mail Box.

BB restarts on Jan 29th.

Thanks for your enthusiasm for BB this year, for the help of all of you, and for a God who saves us. See you next year.
