... a Hotel! And not a bad one at that.. after a very solid night's sleep, we played to the biggest crowd of the tour so far; the first good laugh of the day occurred with the arrival of plain clothes police, obviously alerted to the potential degenerate behaviour of punk rockers by the trail of media outrage left in our wake. A game of "spot the plain clothes officer" took about three seconds flat, and everyone was very careful to stash their drugs/ guns etc carefully. Pennywise actually managed to get a "genuine, Californian-style circle pit" going around the mixing tent, a very cool thing to watch from stage, and Fletcher's bad-boy antics began with insults hurled at the crowd and anyone else within earshot, continuing with a very serious attempt to tip over what appeared to be one of The Porkers' vans and later arrest (we heard) brawling in a strip club. Highlight of the day, though goes to the Porkman, who stripped off at the finale of the show to reveal his member wrapped in what appeared to be Gaffa tape (although I was told later it wasn't), and who subsequently made the front page of a prominent Sydney daily with the headline "Nude Rock Star Shocks at Youth Festival" or something, and who mysteriously disappeared from the tour that night. The evening saw a rowdy, boozed-up Warped crew cruising around Sydney Harbour on a large ferry, with a huge jam session provided by most of the bands there playing punk and 80's standards, and a local band who also seemed keen to strip off and get showered in beer. Needless to say the police were waiting on the return of the tour which was cut short by the horrified staff (reminiscent of the infamous "God Save the Queen" Jubilee Sex Pistols cruise).
